Graduate Opportunites

KPMG Future Analytics welcomes placements to join to the team for a period of c. 8-10 weeks each year (typically from May, but January placements are also considered). Internship opportunities are also available for longer periods, where resourcing can be appropriately allocated to the team. Placements and internships have been considered from all major Geospatial, GIS and Geomatics programmes as well as from other related disciplines including Planning/Spatial Planning, Computer Science, Data Science and Software Development at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are also quite happy to consider candidates from alternative disciplines within other Future Analytics teams (Planning, Strategy, Economics) where appropriate. Accelerator Graduate Development Programme

KPMG welcomes graduates from a variety of academic backgrounds each year, including both accounting and non-accounting focused qualifications. Desirable Skills for Entry Level Candidates

Candidates should be able to work to their own initiative, demonstrate independence and reliability (as appropriate for an early career applicant). Should enjoy solving challenges, discovering solutions and working on projects which cover a range of different subject areas. Should be able to evaluate, transform, process and enrich data from disparate sources.

Desirable technical skills include (but are not limited to):

  • Geospatial and data analysis, including interpretation and visualisation
  • Spatial and non-spatial data/database management
  • Business intelligence/market research
  • Analytical report writing, communication and presentation skills

Desirable software skills include (but are not limited to):

  • GIS (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online (AGOL), QGIS)
  • Excel (Formula, Power Query VBA)
  • Additional ‘nice to haves’: Coding exposure (Python, R), Power Query

Graduate Opportunites

Our ideal candidate would have a mixed skillset, for example GIS and AI. We are very keen to look for candidates that have an interest in bringing traditional GIS and other skillsets together. They should also enjoy problem solving, be solution driven and enjoy working on projects which bring together disparate data from a diverse range of subject areas such as transport, environment, agriculture and infrastructure.

Placements can range from 8 weeks to 6 months. Applications are reviewed on a case by case basis considering student needs/availability/expectations and our team’s capacity to support the placement.

We are typically interested in all major Geospatial, Remote Sensing, GIS and Geomatics programmes but are always happy to consider any other disciplines which included GIS/Geospatial modules or where the student incorporated GIS/Geospatial aspects into their projects/studies. Complimentary skillsets such as Machine Learning, Automated Image Analysis and Big Data Processing are very welcome.

We ensure the placements we offer allow the candidates to take an active role in our GIS/EO teams, gaining valuable technical, commercial on the job experience whilst being supported & mentored by an experienced team.  Successful candidates will gain experience working on national projects that deliver real impact and have opportunities to interact with key decision makers in national organisations.

In addition, successful candidate will be included in our regular technical knowledge exchange sessions which are recorded and have access to our library of project demonstrations offers an insight into real-world geospatial applications.
